High Society Babies are Almost 5 weeks!

The babies are growing fast and doing more and more. This week we begin baths and blow drying. We are trimming nails and they will start on Big Kid food on Thursday. Up until now they have just chowed down on mommy milk!

Vivienne was the first into the bath and blow dry and she was awesome! No crying, wiggling or shaking! She is a real trooper! She loves to give kisses and runs to the side of the pen when I come in the room and begs for attention! She has a wonderful sweet temperament ans is totally fearless!

I will post each baby individually as we progress with bath time and a photo shoot! These High Society Babies are getting well prepared for their pampered lifestyles with their Exclusive Families!

Vanilla had her last ultrasound on Friday of last week. We saw 4 babies wiggling and flipping around : ) !

Well, it seems we have gotten past our last fiasco with Vanilla! After a lot of tests and careful planning Vanilla and Versace are expecting!!!!! Yeah! It looks like we have 4 babies on the way! Puppies are due February 25-26th! So love is in the air for February at La Coquette!

Vanilla has come into season and we are planning on breeding her some time in the next week. She will be bred to Versace. After our last round with Vanilla having a bacterial infection and then giving it to Versace and then no babies we are hopeful that all will be better this time. Vanilla appears to be cleared up and Versace's sperm count is back up to normal. If all goes as planned we will have babies at the end of February.

For those of you who have been patiently waiting for your special arrival, here we go! I will keep you updated on the progress as we go forward!

Dior is loving life and is doing well at accepting changes in his life. He had moved to the Big Boy Pen this week and is learning pad training and loves his adventure toys! We felt like he needed some puppy social skills so this week "Keepsake Clementine" came to have some overnight stays for a bit. She is 3 weeks older and likes to rule but he and all the other dogs LOVE her! He is doing well at sleeping all night in a crate and never goes potty in it. He waits until morning and goes outside!

Our Boy is now in a big boy pen. Has been introduced to all the big dogs. Eats from a bowl and is learning to use the potty pad. He loves his secret hiding place in a kitty tube with an escape hatch! "Baby Dior" weighed in at 15.75 ounces this morning at one week old. He is growing each and everyday. It is hard to believe that he has been here a week now. Amorette is healing well and her milk production is now in line with having just one baby. She is such a good calm and patient mom!

At one week old Amorette and Baby Dior had their first social adjustment. The beginning of many. When they came home from the c-section birth they have spent the first week in my room with me next to my bed in the raised floor of the "Pack & Play" There I could easily care for both mom and baby. Watch and hear for any problems or concerns of both mom and baby. For the last 8 nights I was up several times to check and take care. Last night all seemed under control so today we moved mom and baby to their private "suite". They have their own room with plenty of sunshine and mom now has some private space to move when she needs some space. Baby has a warm snugly pen free from drafts and direct sunlight. It is still quite warm here in sunny California!

"Baby Dior" and mom, Amorette and doing well together. Amorette is healing nicely from her C-Section. Having a singleton is always a challenge! Amorette has enough milk for 6 and that creates problems of it's own. We are working on getting her milk production down and keeping her from getting any infections in the non-used nipples. This morning she looks like we are getting the job done! Whew!

"Baby Dior" who was born at 7.25 ounces weighs in this morning at 12.25 ounces! He is one happy camper!

On Saturday, October 2, 2010 we packed an early in labor Amorette off to the vet's for a c-section. X-ray verified one large well developed baby and vet suggested that a c-section was best. We had a bath 2 days earlier and mom pony tailed and vet wrapped the hair so it would all stay nice and beautiful! The vet's office loved the pony's wrapped in pink for the mama princess. All went well and our little prince arrived safe and sound and weighed in a 7.25 ounces. Mom and baby are doing fabulously!

We ultra sounded Amorette at 21 days and was able to see she had just one baby on the way. At 35 days we saw all the baby parts and organs and all looked great!

Our "Princess" is patiently waiting for her first little one. She is looking quite lovely and is keeping her girlish figure for a bit longer!

A Little Good News for La Coquette Cotons!

Well it has been a bit challenging this year to get a stork arrival here at La Coquette Cotons but it looks like we are headed in the right direction. After discovering Vanilla had a vaginal bacterial infection which was a spermicidal bacteria and then finding out while doing the breeding's with Versace she gave the bacteria to him and then having Amorette come into season while his sperm count was then compromised and he could give her the bacteria, we had to do some quick thinking and maneuvering.

After some contemplation, testing, antibiotics and a fertility enhancer and a quick ship of Semen from New Jersey here is the news. Vanilla should be all cleared up and ready for her next season to be bred. We will do another vaginal culture and sensitivity test before breeding next time and all should be good. Versace is done with his antibiotics and is on a fertility enhancer and after about 90 days we will test him again and make sure he is clear (he should be fine) and ready to go again. Amorette ovulated and gave us just one day to get semen here on time and we were able to do a surgical insemination as the semen did not come in in great quantity. After all of this here is the big news! We ultra-sounded Amorette on day 21 and it seems we have 1 little bambina/bambino on the way! We were able to see a good strong heartbeat! Here is our first photo!

Sometimes the Best of Plans

Well, today I was hoping to post exciting news about the upcoming litter from Vanilla, but we took her in for her ultra sound and found no babies in the basket :(( . She it appears is having a false pregnancy. All the signs looked positive but for the first time since I have been breeding dogs our girl appears to have not taken. I will check again in a few days but the signs are not hopeful for babies this season with Vanilla. We will breed her on her next season and hope for good news.

Amorette is in early season and we are hopeful for her babies.

We will keep you posted. At times like this I try to remember that patience is a virtue. Good things come to those who wait, so I will wait patiently!

Puppy News is Coming!

It is an exciting time at "La Coquette"! Amorette has now passed her last health test with an OFA Excellent on her Hip Prelim. She has just come into season this week and we are looking at the possibility of breeding her in the next week or so. For those waiting for her babies this is the beginning of the process. We will do her first Progesterone Testing on Wednesday, July 28th!

Vanilla is looking pregnant and we have her scheduled for her UltraSound on Monday, July 26th! We are meeting with a new UltraSound Tech who is known for getting a good puppy count. We are hopeful to have an idea of how many ahead of time. The count will be posted on Monday evening!

Well we have been waiting for a month now for Vanilla to come into season. She finally decided it was time and came in 2 days ago. We are now preparing for breeding and are hoping the puppy stork will arrive in late August! Vanilla passed her CERF exam a little bit ago and is ready for her latest baby arrivals. Versace is anxiously awaiting his part in this event and is sure to give us some very pretty babies!

We have started our Health Testing for Breeding for 2010.

Our Grandma about town went in for her final CERF exam today. Chateau's Something Special, aka Sami!She will be 10 years old in September. The Eye Doctor gave her rave reviews! Beautiful Clear eyes at almost 10!

Multi CH Cachet Designer Genes at La Coquette was re-CERF'd today and has wonderful clear eyes! He has already passed his OFA Cardio and OFA Patella certification and has his OFA Hip Prelim Good. He has had complete Blood Panels and has tested CMR Clear!

Multi CH La Coquette Regal Amorette just started her initial tests to determine her breedability. So far she has passed her OFA Cardio and OFA Patella Cerification and today her 1st CERF exam. Hips and Blood panels will be done as she approaches 2 years old.

We will keep you posted as puppytime and more tests are completed!

Show News for the Weekend!

This weekend March 13-14, 2010 Amorette and I attended the ARBA Sunray Classic is San Diego, CA. It was windy and cold but no rain, yeah! The turn out was small so they held all six shows on Saturday. That was a lot to ask of our sweet babies and I am not sure who was more pooped!

This weekend was a special one as Amorette's cousin of sorts, Kylee, was there with her mom, Diane Rinella from Keepsake Cotons. Both of us only needed a couple of points to finish our ARBA CH. Both girls did it!

Kylee actually went best in Classic as she ended up with 3 Reserve Best in Shows and 2 Best in Shows! I am so proud of her as Kylee's mom is my breeding and her grandpa on the daddy's side is too! So nice to see good things coming on down line!

Amorette had 3 Winners Bitch points, 1 BOB and 1 Group 1!

A Good Start for 2010!

Our first show day for 2010 at the ARBA Tournament in Claremont, CA started us off on the right foot for the year! Amorette who currently has her AACDT/Rarities Championship is now working on her ARBA, USACTC and UKC titles as well. We showed only on Saturday and Amorette was Winners Bitch all three shows, BOS on 2 shows and BOW, BOB, Group 1 and RBIS on the other show!

I will have a picture from ARBA to post later but she is doing great and only needs a single CAC for her USACTC CH, 3 CAC for her ARBA and 2 for her UKC! Way to go "TT"!

"Versace" Takes a Major at UKC Specialty!

Our special man about town had not seen the show ring for about 5 months but on November 20th we took him to a UKC Coton Specialty and he did great! He was Winner's Dog, Best of Winners and recieved an Award of Merit! This gave him a 5 Point Major and Finished his USACTC Championship. He needs one more CAC from UKC for his UKC Title. He now has his AACDT, ARBA and USACTC Championship! It was a night show and they could not get good pictures so no show win photo but here is a photo of the man about town at home! He LOVES his Spa Time!

We have just returned from Orlando, Florida after attending the AACDT Nationals for 2009. Amorette and I had a great time and lots of fun renewing friendships and meeting new friends! Her is a picture of me, Amorette, Minna Helle and her Pavo the day before the show weekend.

The weather was great and we had a wonderful time. On Saturday Amorette was Reserve Winners Bitch and on Sunday she was Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and Best Opposite Sex to Best of Breed. That finished her AACDT Championship!!!! Yeah Amorette!!

We have more shows this next month for both Amorette and Versace. I will post show pictures when I get them!

Vivaldi has a new Family!

Vivaldi went off to live in the lap of Luxury at a wonderful estste in Santa Barbara, CA. His new mom, Hilary on the left stopped on the way home to share the excitment with her friend! Now that the "V" litter is 7 1/2 weeks we have moved them in to meet and greet with Sami, Versace and Amorette. Sinatra is waiting a bit for his introduction to the Big World. They have a big play area with toys, a crate to climb in and their "Wiz Dog" potty pad with Nature's Miracle Quick Result potty pads. They started on the potty training at 5 weeks and have been really good at hitting the right spot! Well, most of the time. New parents have the "Wiz Dog" and Pads ready for their homecoming in just a few weeks!
The mom's are taking in some R&R in their private suites that they have been enjoying up until now. They both seem quit content to take a little time off but when it it chow time they demand them back!

The puppies and the big guys have taken to each other amazingly! Versace is very proud of his babies and thinks they are something special! Of course so do we! Sami has always been the Matron and she is keeping watch to make sure that Daddy and Auntie Amorette don't overstep their bounds!

Our Little Singleton, "La Coquette The One and Only". aka "Sinatra" is growing like a Weed! At birth he was a tiny 4 3/8 ounces. At six days he weighs in at 10 1/2 ounces. "London", his Mom is doing great as a first time mom! She is so attentive and caring. I am glad that she has taken to this so well and quickly as sometimes with a C-section it takes a while to kick in!

Introducing our newest arrival, "La Coquette The One and Only", aka "Sinatra". London is being a wonderful first time Mom and is taking such great care with her little boy. He gained 3/4 of an ounce over the first 24 hours which is great! He is still so tiny! He weighed 4 3/8 ounces at birth and was over 5 ounces this morning. We will keep you posted on his progress.

A Long and Difficult Night

Dear Friends, Last night was one of those nights that breeders all fear but eventually we all have. A night that you hope does not happen to you. So I share a bit of insight and information that I hope you all can benefit from.

London went into labor at about 8:00 PM and was having contractions somewhat regularly. At 8:45 I saw her water bag. Wasn't sure it was broken but should have assumed so since I saw it. After that Labor slowed down and was intermittent. She seemed clam and unconcerned she would have contractions and then go to sleep for awhile. This continued all night. At 4:00 AM I was concerned. Thought my Vet would be in at 6 AM so waited to go to see him as she was not in any distress and no unusual discharge. Got to the Vet and found out he would not be in until 8 AM. Called another Repro Vet for an emergency C-Section and he met us immediately. Did a C-section and saved one of the 2 boys. Heartbreaking to say the least. Mom (a singleton herself) is now the mom of a Little singleton. They are both doing fine.

My Vets advise to all if you did not know is, If you see the bag of water and you do not have a puppy in 2 hours go to the Vet immediately. Also, small litters of one or two is a red flag for this possibility. Be prepared with a small litter to have a C-section.

But one Happy Note, "La Coquette The One and Only", aka "Sinatra" has arrived! Versace and London are very proud.

Versace is patienly awaiting his next babies. He is a nervous Daddy and looks at London concerned. London just paces and looks nervous. So far no labor Pains!

Versace says, "I'm tired! Maybe a little nap will help out."

Hope I am not needed anytime soon! CRASH for a bit!

London is expecting 2 babies next week and the "V" Litter is 1 week old!

Vanilla/Versace Babies Arrive!!!!!!

At 6:00 AM this morning July 30th Vanilla delivered the first of 3 beautiful babies! Last one was born at 7:00 AM. Two girls and one boy! Mom and kids are doing great and we could all use a rest from being up most the night. Pictures to come in a couple of days along with names! Versace is a very proud first time Papa!!!!

On Saturday, May 16th Amorette went and showed at the ARBA, Claremont, CA show. Her very first show in the ring and she takes a 5 Point Major and BOS! She is just darling and everyone loved her. She is so happy and loved to show. We expect Big things from her!

What a wonderful weekend for Lazare! Showing in Germany this weekend he recieved on Saturday the CAC and BOB and on to RESERVE BEST IN SHOW! On Sunday he recieved the CAC in the Champion class with 24 Cotons entered on Sunday. Lazare is now a Swedish Champion, Danish Champion, International Champion, German Champion CTV & German VDH Champion! We are so proud of our Boy! Way to go Aage and Wilma!

A New Champion at La Coquette!

Well I am really tired and so are Versace and Amorette! We showed at the ARBA show in Claremont California this weekend. The temperature was soaring and in the 90's! Amorette took it all in stride and loved just being there and visiting with everyone. She will go out for her first real show weekend in May.

Versace did great and he seems to do fine in the heat and was a real showman! He finished his ARBA Championship and then went on to BOB, Group 1 and Reserve BIS!!! I am so proud of him! We are working on a USACTC, AACDT and UKC Championships as well! We will keep you updated as we progress.

European Traveler is on The Move!

"La Coquette My Diamond Lazare" is traveling in Europe once again. This picture was taken today as he prepares to take off on another adventure.

After completing his International Champion of Beauty he is off to work on more titles through out Europe. Look for him in a Country near you! His offspring are so proud of their papa and look forward to many more titles to come. His retired Mama is very proud too but she is happy to rest and relax in the California sunshine!

Versace Takes them by Storm!!!!!

The Sace needs a rest after a fabulous weekend of shows! This weekend we showed at the ARBA SunRay Classic in San Diego, CA. Versace took Winners Dog and Best of Winners at 5 Shows! At the last show on Sunday he went on to be Best of Breed, Group 1 and then to top it off he was Reserve Best In Show! This was his second Reserve Best in show so far this year and we have only shown him for two ARBA weekends so far. We have high hopes for him this year and look forward more great things to come for him! Our little Amorette went along for the experience on Saturday and showed us that she is ready and willing to take on the challenge too!

International Champion "La Coquette My Diamond Lazare"

I am so pleased to announce that "La Coquette My Diamond Lazare" Has just received his FCI International Championship of Beauty!

Lazare is from my "Chateau's Something Special" aka Sami (now retired from breeding)and ARBA CH and Master Champion, USACTC CH and IABCA CH "Simply Grand Standing Room Only" aka Pavarotti (this was the first of only two breeding's of Pavarotti before he was lost to us).

Lazare had previously received his Swedish and Danish Championships. A big Thank You to his owner "Aage" of Sejer-Milland Cotons in Denmark! Lazare is producing some beautiful babies too! I could not be prouder!

Versace's 1st UKC Show!

On Saturday, February 21st, Versace attended his first ever UKC Show here in Claremont, California. I am so proud of how beautifully he showed. He is growing and maturing into a wonderful adult Coton as well as being the perfect puppy! He loves to please his mom and adores his new play pal Amorette! At the UKC Show he was Winners Dog and Best of Breed for 2 shows! Unfortunately they did not do groups at this show and all BOB winners went into BIS. Although he showed like a star there was no BIS in our stars for that day!

Of course he is a Star and a BIS boy in our hearts! Many more chances to come for this special boy!

I co-own both Mom and Dad in this litter. Mom is Dephine and Dad is Xander. Contact me for more information on the pedigrees of both. Both are fully health tested. Amorette will be entering the show ring this Spring and will have her buddy Versace to hang out with!

Here is our Show Boy, "Cachet Designer Genes at La Coquette"! Thanks to Marilyn Smart and Yulon Bearup for the chance to have this special boy. He is the perfect dog! No really he is! He started the year with a Reserve Best in Show at an ARBA Show in Claremont, CA in January. We will keep you posted on his show and breeding career.
